Capacity Marking

CE Marking

CE marking ensures that glassware meets strict legal requirements for serving alcohol in the UK and Europe. The markings include:

• A line mark as well as the capacity of that line measure in numbers or text (e.g. 25ml, 125ml, third pint, 4 pint)

• A brim measure just has the capacity of the glass, often marked on the bottom of the vessel.

• A CE mark is a product marking that indicates a product's conformity with applicable legislation for goods placed on the market.

• A UK approved registration number - ours is 0120, and issued by SGS, the world leaders for Inspection & Testing.

• The capital letter "M" and the last two digits of the year they were capacity marked, all surrounded by a rectangle. The "M" marking means a marking applied to a measuring instrument, the height of which is equal to that of the CE marking.

• Manufacturer's mark or name (we use bbp)

• Manufacturer's address (we use WF14 8LY)
